7 DEADLY SINS TO AVOID THIS VALENTINE’S DAY

7 DEADLY SINS TO AVOID THIS VALENTINE’S DAY

Common Valentine's Day loopholes many fail to avoid

1. Spending above your means

Spending Yes. You love boo/bae so much. You promised that you’ll give them the whole world. But here’s something to remember: Valentine’s Day (VD) is not a day for you to go broke.

If you go broke trying to make your val happy, they might end up leaving you for a richer partner. There are gifts and treats you can give your loved one without breaking the bank.

VD is just one day in the year and bills won’t pay themselves, so you have to be smart.

Follow this rule: Try not to spend above 40% of your monthly income.

2. Oppressing singles on social media with details of your day with boo

social media We don’t want to be in our beds, without boo, scrolling through social media, bored out of our minds, only to see 100+ videos/photos of ya’ll having a good time with your val. We’re happy for you and all but dead dat ting abeg.

You can have an exciting time without suffocating us with details on social media. A few gorgeous pictures should do it. Being considerate of others is also part of showing love.

Sincerely, Association of Single Boos and Baes.

3. Buying singlet and boxers for your partner

Buy something special Try to do better this year. We know things are tough right now but singlet and boxers?

It’s 2021 ya’ll! Spend this money!

Buy him a decent watch, or a posh bottle of perfume or belts, cufflinks, suits, shirts, a TV, a Ferrari, and most importantly a PS5 console.

If you’re a queen, then treat your man like the king he is. No singlet and boxers this year abeg. This goes both ways.

4. Hooking up casually out of desperation

Desperation It’s natural to crave companionship and a dating partner on VD. The problem is that most people do this from a place of desperation.

“Oh. All my friends have cute guys taking them out on VD. I really need to find my own boo ASAP.”

Going into the dating market with 100% emotion is never a good idea. It keeps you from seeing clear red flags.

So please, don’t let the VD craze lead you to clinging with the wrong person. It will have terrible long-term consequences.

5. Getting drunk

Alcohol On VD, many young folks go clubbing and partying. They get in contact with lots of strong drinks, which may lead to them losing control. Without control, they’re open to all forms of behaviour that may have devastating effects on their health and relationships.

Getting into drunk fights might land you in jail. You could get robbed, sexually abused (or abusive), kidnapped, spill vital secrets or have an accident. This may hurt your reputation, emotions or your health.

Every possible thing can go wrong when you get drunk in public. You’re not in control of your life at that point. And there is no upside to getting drunk around strangers, so one night of VD balling isn’t really worth getting in trouble over.

6. Receiving gifts from multiple sources without giving any in return

Gifts

This is just plain greed and it has to stop. You have 5 male/female “besties” and they all sent you gifts for val. All you give in return is: “Aww, that’s so cute. Thanks boo/bae"

That’s cool but it is not enough.

Let the love flow both ways. Enough of one-sided relationships when it comes to giving. Nothing is too small as long as it comes from a good place in your heart (except singlet and boxers).

Everyone deserves a gift, and because you receive one doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give back.

7. Having (Unprotected) Sex

Intercourse Are you ready to be parent now? Are you ready to shoulder all the financial and emotional responsibilities of being a parent?

If your answer to the above questions is “yes", then ignore this slide. If “no", then pay attention.

Being a parent is expensive—money-wise, time-wise and energy-wise. It’s not a joking matter.

“Don’t worry babe, I won’t come inside.” Lori iro.

If you aren’t willing to abstain till marriage, then you should seriously consider protecting yourself from both the health and emotional risks that come with pre-marital sex.

Bottom line: If you’re not 100% comfortable with the possible consequences of unprotected sex, then you shouldn’t be having sex

There you have it folks! Have a wonderful time with your loved one and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
